E-2 Visa (Foreign Language Instructor)
Foreigners who come to Korea to teach English or other foreign languages (Elementary, middle, High school, or Hagwons) may apply for an E-2 visa.

Eligible applicants:
- Non-Visa Holders (Native Speakers who wish to teach a foreign language in Korea), D-10
For those who wish to teach English, they should have the following requirements:
- Should be a Native English Speaker*
- A citizen of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa
- Should have a university degree from an accredited school in one of the mentioned countries above
- Clean criminal record
*Only citizens from the countries mentioned above are eligible to be called “native speakers” in Korea
Validity:
Contract Duration + 1 month
If your contract is valid for 12 months, the officer will likely give you 13 months of visa validity.
Required Documents:
To apply your Visa Issuance Number (to be processed by the school)
- Apostilled (certified) criminal background check
- Apostilled(certified) copy of your university (a bachelor’s degree) diploma
- E2 Visa Issuance Application Form: Health statement page with an original ink signature
(You can fill out only your personal information. Leave blanks for those sections you don’t know: the school will fill them out for you) - Signed work contract (2 copies)
- 10 passport size Photos (2 inches × 2 inches or 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)
- Passport (with at least six months validity and at least one empty page)
- 2 Copies of the bio page of your passport
- 2 Resumes (signed and dated) with the correct address and contact information.
- Consent for isolation (signed and dated)- subject to change depending on current CDC regulations.
